Donald “Donnie” Scott Raasch, age 58, passed away suddenly on July 9, 2018. A lifelong resident of the south side of Indianapolis, Donnie was born on August 8, 1959 and graduated from Southport High School. He was baptized at and a lifelong member of Southport Baptist Church.

Donnie worked for Indiana University Health at Methodist Hospital for 38 years holding various positions and before his passing was a Fire System Technician with Plant Operations. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed attending Pacer games and Purdue basketball and football. He loved following the Colts and being part of the Sons of Tailgating pre and postgame crew.

You would always find him enjoying those that came out for home games and tailgating on Sundays where he made his “world famous” Bloody Mary’s. Donnie was passionate about being around family and friends. He attended birthday parties, weddings, sporting events and holiday gatherings with those he loved.

He found pleasure in going on fishing trips in Canada, weekends at his Lake Monroe trailer and until recently, being outdoor in the company of his dogs. He never knew a stranger and would engage in conversation with everyone. Donnie is preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Catherine (Katie) Raasch.

He is survived by his brothers Kenny Raasch (wife Lynn deceased), Denny and wife Judy, and Gary and wife Kathryn; 2 nephews and 6 nieces; 3 great nephews and 9 great nieces. Services for Donnie will be Saturday, July 14 at 10:00 a.m. at Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center. Calling will be Friday, July 13 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service.

Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
