Donald Ellwood Benson, age 94, a life-long resident of Cannon Falls, died on Saturday morning, December 1, 2018 at The Gardens at Cannon Falls. Don was born at home on the family homestead on September 8, 1924, the son of Alfred and Clara (Jellum) Benson. He has lived and farmed his entire life on the same farm in Leon Township, and attended rural country school just down the road.

He enjoyed farm auctions and farm antique shows. Don married Hazel Engler on August 8, 1965 at Randolph Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Hazel; and son, Gregory Donald Benson of Cannon Falls; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Per Don’s wishes, no services will be held at this time. If you choose, any donations in Don’s memory may be made directly to Spring Garden Lutheran Church, 10239 Co 1 Blvd, Cannon Falls MN 55009.
