Donald’s Obituary Deptford – On January 22, 2019. Age 87. Formerly of Bellmawr.

Devoted husband of 65 years to Eleanor K. (nee Brennan). Loving father of Patricia, Donald Jr. (Marguerite), Stephen (Susan), Brian (Stacey), Theresa “Terri” and Kevin. Special Father-in-law of Linda LaFalce.

Caring Grand Pop of Melissa Randazzo (Greg) and Jennifer Smith (Derek). Devoted Pop Pop of Sean, Colin, Tyler, Ciara, Ryan, Carly, Brianna, Brett and Ian. Special Great Pop Pop of Chase.

Predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Elizabeth and his brother, Wallace Jr. Don was born and raised in Gloucester, NJ. He graduated top of his class from Gloucester Catholic High School in 1949. He was a member of the St. Mary Guild Band and was selected to attend Jersey Boys State.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force, and was thrilled when he was chosen to serve as a musician. After leaving the Air Force, Don settled in Bellmawr, NJ, where he and Elly continued to raise their family. He had a long career as an insurance adjuster with Underwriters Adjusting Company, and continued to play music on the side.

Don was a faithful and devoted Catholic. He was a long-time member of Annunciation Church in Bellmawr. He enjoyed many things in life, but nothing was more important to him than his beautiful wife and his family.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and was happiest when gathering for birthday celebrations, holidays and family events. He also enjoyed sharing in the many accomplishments of his grandchildren and attending their various activities. He and Elly were inseparable, and you could always find them walking hand-in-hand.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed traveling, especially winter trips to Hilton Head, SC, listening to Jazz, playing music (vibraharp), camping, skiing and summer trips to Grassy Sounds. He also had a variety of special, close friends and enjoyed dining, gathering and traveling with them, including memorable weekend trips to Fortesque. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 9:30 to 10:45 AM at St. Mary’s R.C. Church, 426 Monmouth St., Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM in the church. Interment with U.S Air Force honors will follow in New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr.
