bentonfh.com to leave a message of condolence for his family. Benton Funeral Home has been entrusted with services and arrangements. Don was born on January 11, 1928, to Doris and Don Bramlette of Highwood.

He was the oldest of three. He attended Fort Benton High School and then joined the Army early in the spring of 1946. He was stationed in Alaska, the only place colder than Chouteau County.

After his honorable discharge from the Army, he returned to Chouteau County, where he was active with the Sheriff’s Posse, worked for his uncles John Jacoby and Guy Bramlette, Harris Land & Cattle and was a longtime employee for Leeper Land Company. Don met the love of his life Vlasta “Lassie”, while ‘cruising the drag’ in Fort Benton. They were married in Fort Benton and together raised three sons.

The kids were blessed by a father who taught them work ethic, and shared many special memories on the farm and ranch working with tools, equipment, cattle and grain harvesting until it was too dark to see, but they never missed the wonderful lunch or dinner served by Mom/Grandma. Don had a great sense of humor; storytelling was his specialty and he will be greatly missed by all. He loved to hunt and play solitaire.

After his retirement in 2001, Don and Vlasta moved to Great Falls. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ken; sister, Bettie Cherry; and stepbrother Tom. Don is survived by his wife of 70 years, Vlasta Bramlette; sons, Douglas (Jade), Rodney (Rowena) and Jim (Judy); brother Bob; stepsister Mary; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
