Donald G. Welch, 80, passed away on September 14, 2018. Born on June 10, 1938 in Dayton, Ohio, he graduated from Vandalia-Butler High School in 1956. He is a proud graduate from the University of Dayton where he received his degree in Engineering.

Among his friends and family, Don was always known as the handy man. Some of his many accomplishments include, earning the highest rank in Boy Scouts; the honor of an Eagle Scout, getting his pilot’s license, and becoming a member of the Masonic Lodge. Don retired with 40 years of experience from Dynapoint Tool Corporation, the company he and his father, Jack Welch, started together.

After retirement, Don and his wife of 59 years, Maryann, moved to Hilton Head, South Carolina where they enjoyed a wonderful 11 years. Last December, Don and Maryann moved back to Ohio to be closer to family. Don is survived by his wife, Maryann; two children, Mark (Jane) and Marsha (Todd); sister, Dodie (Joe) and brother Doug (Diane); many nieces and nephews; and four grandchildren, Morgan, Emma, Jackson, and Mason.

A celebration of life will be held at the Mausoleum at David’s Cemetery in Kettering, Ohio on Saturday September 22, 2018 at 1PM. In lieu of flowers, donations to Ashanti Hospice and Palliative Care in Toledo, Ohio and the Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
