Obituary for Donald J. Alexander Donald J. Alexander, 91, of Greensburg, formerly of North Huntingdon, went home to be with his Savior, Thursday October 11, 2018. He was born December 9, 1926 in Kane, a son of the late Joseph and Ula (Simpson) Alexander and was also preceded in death by four brothers Robert, Joseph, Deane, and Paul Alexander. Don retired from Bell Telephone with 38 years’ service.
He was an Army veteran of WWII and an avid golfer. Don is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 66 years Alice (Fitzella) Alexander; his four children Cynthia Lauffer and her husband Clarke of Greensburg, Robert Alexander of Youngsville, Donald Alexander and his wife Laverne Rossi of Charleroi, and Daniel Alexander of Greensburg; his four grandchildren Melanie Harhai and her husband Mark, Jessica DiCecca and her husband Daniel, Scott Alexander and his wife Lewann, and Ryan Alexander; nine great grandchildren Logan and Gabriel Harhai, Isabella, Mia, Liliana, and Elias DiCecca, Brody and Trent Alexander, and Dylan Alexander; two step great grandchildren Colton and Alahna Rossi; sisters in law Tricia Alexander and Rose Raines; also nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the William Snyder Funeral Home , 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, where a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with his son in law, Pastor Clarke Lauffer, officiating.
