Obituary for Donald King ATHOL – Donald King, 78 of 64 Garfield Rd. , Athol, died Sunday, November 18, 2018 in the Veterans Hospital, West Roxbury, MA. He was born in Templeton, on March 27, 1940, the son of the late Leonard King and the late Edna (Clark) King.

Don grew up in Athol/Orange area and lived here until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1957. He returned to the area after retiring in 1992. He was a life member of the NRA.

He enjoyed fishing and boating on the St. Johns River, reading, spending winters at their home in Debary, Fla. , traveling the country in their motor home and his beloved dog Misty. He leaves his wife of 17 years: Sandra F. (Stephenson) King; two daughters: Sherri Miller of CA and Michelle King of AR, two step-daughters, Vicki LaRoche-Stoddard of Athol, Roxanne Langelier of Orange; one step-son, Ronald Ducharme of NC; ten grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one brother: Robert King of Athol; two sisters: Theresa Rein of Palm Bay, FL, Priscilla Ferrill of Louisville, KY, several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his son: Paul King; siblings: Geraldine Grindle of Athol, Arlene Vitello of Deland, FL, Jeanette King of Athol, Reginald King of Warwick, Arnold King of Orange, Gerald King of Athol. Graveside services will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen St., Winchendon No calling are hours scheduled.
