Donald L. Utley, Sr., 81, of Center, Missouri, passed away at 11:08 PM Monday, October 15, 2018 at his home. Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. There will be no services at this time.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Donald was born March 8, 1937, in Hannibal, MO to Rolla Lee Utley, Sr. and Gladys Young Utley. He was married to Marjorie Moore.

Survivors include 2 children, Kathy Cowden (Roger) of Center, MO, Don Utley (Angie) of Center, MO, 2 brothers, Rolla Utley (Polly) of Florida and Orville “Clinton” Utley of Bowling Green, MO, 1 sister, Donna Baker (George) of Monroe City, MO, 7 grandchildren, Joshua Utley, Anthony Utley, Seth Utley, Elaura Utley, Kyle Foutes, Shawn Dixon and Ryan Cowden. He is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, 5 sisters and 1 daughter, Jackie Dixon. Donald served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the conclusion of the Korean Conflict. Professionally Donald worked for many years as a maintenance electrician before retiring from DURA Manufacturing.

Away from work Donald loved to read, in fact Donald had read everything that interested him in the entire Center Library! Donald also enjoyed playing his video games. Watching professional tennis and both college and professional football were sports that Donald liked to follow.

An excellent cook, Donald made the best chicken and noodles and hot rolls. Politics and old time country music were also pleasures that Donald enjoyed. Most of all Donald simply loved the time he shared with his family.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
