Donald’s Obituary Donald M. Swenson Age 90, of St. Paul, MN died peacefully Thursday, February 7, 2019 at MN Veterans Home in Minneapolis. Loving husband of Shirley Swenson (deceased) for 68 years. They were married on January 13, 1951.

Loving father of Debbie Fangel (Jerry), Sue Baldwin (Dale) and Donna Swenson (deceased). Loving Grandpa of Bryan Baldwin (Molly), Shannon Pryor (Jason), Stacey Cerar (Jason), Josh Fangel (Rachael), Krystle Reese (Jason). Loving Great Grandpa of Maggie Baldwin, Sam Baldwin, Cash Cerar, Dalen Reese, Knox Cerar, and Avery Pryor Donald, son of Melvin and Hilda Swenson, was born in Glenwood, Minnesota.

He was the second oldest of 3 siblings. Vernon Swenson (Elaine), and Mary Ann Freund (Jerry). Donald proudly served in the U.S. Navy from 1945-1947.

Donald was a St. Paul Policeman for 25 years from 1957-1982. After retiring from the police force he worked for Johnson- Peterson Funeral Home for many years. He was also a member of the American Legion.

Donald attended Faith Lutheran Church and it held a special place in his heart. Donald and Shirley volunteered at Jackson School and Faith Lutheran Church for years in so many different ways. They also volunteered at the Mpls-St. Paul Airport at the Armed Forces Service Center assisting service members that were either leaving or coming home from deployment.

They loved helping others. Donald had many friends who were special to him. Bob and Terry Valentine, neighbors for many years, Sister Petrann Sieben,and so many of his church congregation.

He was loved by so many people and will be greatly missed.
