Donald Paul Powell October 6, 1942 Donald Paul Powell, 76, of Plymouth, IL passed away after a valiant battle with PSP-Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior on March 7, 2019 at 1:23 PM. D on was born at home on the family farm October 6, 1942 to Paul & Jean (Douglas) Powell.

He attended Plymouth High School and worked at the family farm for most of his life. He married Vicki Reuck, June 25, 1961 in Denver, IL. Don always loved the outdoors: he was an avid hunter, loved shooting trap, & playing golf as long as he was able.

In his earlier years he also enjoyed playing basketball & softball. He loved being with family and friends. Another passion for Don was eating, he loved good food and took his time enjoying his meal.

Don came to Christ about 20 years ago, professing his faith by Baptism, and then later joined the First Baptist Church. Don is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki Powell, their two children Rollin Brent (Suzanne) Powell of Purcellville, VA & Brenda (Darin) Allen of Plymouth, IL, five grandchildren Meghan, William, & Benjamin Powell; Lauren & Claire Allen, a sister, Carolyn (Ralph) Frakes, a brother, Edwin (Sue) Powell, and numerous nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents Paul & Jean Powell; brothers Johnny Dean & Robert Powell; and sister Deanna Cathcart.

Special thanks: to MDH Hospice staff who were all so helpful and very caring, to Pastor Jerry Taylor, the First Baptist Church family, & our family and friends for continued help & support. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday March 10, 2019 at the First Baptist Church of Plymouth with Pastor Jerry Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s cemetery near Plymouth.

Visitation will be held from Noon until the time of services at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Plymouth or MDH Hospice.
