Brown September 06, 1930 – March 05, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book Donald Ramon Brown September 6, 1930 – March 5, 2019 Donald was born in Long Beach California to Thomas and Edna Brown. He was the oldest of three boys, who are twins Bernard and Leland. Don graduated from Loyola University with an Electrical Engineering degree.

Don met and married his love, Mary Hiskey, with whom they raised 5 boys. They have 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. They were active members of Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church for over 64 years.

Don was active with Boy Scouts of America with his children, serving as a Scoutmaster of Troop166. Donald was an aerospace engineer for North American Aviation Organization and Rockwell for during his career. He was involved with design and testing of Air Force missile programs, Gemini and Apollo space programs as well development of the Air Force B1 bomber.

As one of the B-1 lead engineers who design the first onboard maintenance system on an aircraft. After retirement, he served Our Lady Of Refuge for many years providing maintenance and repair for all areas of the parish. Funeral Services are on Saturday, March 16, 2019, 10:30 am at Our Lady of Refuge church located at 5195 Stearns St., Long Beach, CA  90815.
