Obituary for Donald R. Farmer Sr. Cherry Valley, Ohio – Donald Ray Farmer, Sr., age 75, died on Sunday, December 2, 2018 at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 9, 1943 in Williamson, West Virginia, a son of Gladys L. (Varney) and Earl Ray Farmer, Sr. On April 12, 1963, he married Janet Lou Cobb. He worked as a chain hand in the oil industry for PEP Drilling, retiring in 1988.

Donald loved to coon hunt and was a member of the Ashtabula County Coon Hunters Association. He also loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren. Donald is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Russell E. Farmer; and four brothers, Earl Ray Farmer, Jr., Bobby Farmer, Sr., Jack Farmer, and Gene Farmer.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Janet L. Farmer of Cherry Valley; two daughters, Juanita Klemencic of Brookpark, Ohio and Gwen (David) Glause of Roaming Shores, Ohio; two sons, Donald (Juanita) Farmer, Jr. of Andover, Ohio and Roby (Tracie) Farmer of Orma, West Virginia; three sisters, Mabel Bolen of Andover, Donna Faye Beckner of Newton Falls, Ohio and Sandra Elliott of Minford, Ohio; four brothers, Roby Farmer of New Lyme, Ohio, Columbus Farmer of Jefferson, Ohio, Jerry Farmer of Cleveland, Ohio and Steve Farmer of Virginia; twelve grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, December 6, 2018, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Baumgardner Funeral & Cremation Service, 134 Prospect Street, Andover, Ohio. A funeral service will start at 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
