Donald Thomas Steele , May 03, 1952 — June 23, 2018

Donald Thomas Steele, age 66, of Morgantown, passed away early Saturday morning, June 23, 2018 at his residence following a long illness and in the presence of his loving family. He was born May 3, 1952 in Olean, NY and was a son of the late Donald Richard and Donna Pearl (Button) Steele. Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Sue Ellen Baird Steele; his daughter Annell Smith and her husband Ben of Morgantown; a son Adam Jolly and his wife Tammy of Bushnell, FL; six grandchildren, Austin, Aunna, Jada, and Joel Smith, and Skye and Rayne Jolly; and his step-mother, Patricia Steele of Abington, PA.

Donald was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. Upon his completion of duties there, he attended and graduated from the Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science and became a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Florida where he served families for more than 30 years. Upon his retirement from funeral directing, he moved to Blairsville, GA to fulfill his dream of opening a music store.

He was an excellent guitarist and taught many students. He loved music and was a church musician in Georgia and Florida. He worked with Jaycees and was a member of the Gideons.

In keeping with his request, no public services will be held, and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. He will be inurned at a later date in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL. Professional services are being provided to the family under the guidance of Smith Funeral & Cremation Care of Morgantown, WV.
