Obituary for Donald “Uncle D” “Wheat” Newport Jr. Donald W. Newport, Jr. “Uncle D”, “Wheat” The Newport baby boy came bouncing into this world on 09/15/1960 at Fairview General Hospital in Cleveland. Donnie passed away unexpectedly the morning of 06/28/2018, at the age of 57, with his loyal canine companion, Nina by his side. Donnie was a talented musician and songwriter.

Family gatherings were his favorite venue to present new material and songs he had written, especially the ones about family members. He spent the last few years caring for his parents. His originality, sense of humor and loving ways will be deeply missed by all those who knew him.

He was recently preceded in death by his loving mother, Dorothy L. Newport. Left to cherish his memory include his caring father, Donald W. Newport, Sr. along with his sisters and brother’s-in-law, Denise (Gary) Dillman, Darlene (Rick) Hoylman, Diane (Terry) Crow, and Doree (Kevin) Beaune. He will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and his faithful dog, Nina.

The family will receive friends on Monday, July 2, 2018 from 4PM-730PM at the Sunset Chapel in Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd. , North Olmsted, where funeral services will commence on Monday at 7:30PM. Private interment services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park.
