Obituary for Donald V Thorne Donald V. Thorne, 86, died January 8, 2019. Mr. Thorne was born in Portland ME on March 5th, 1932 to the late Maurice and Leada Thorne. He grew up in Westbrook, ME and upon graduating from Westbrook HS and Boston University he worked in education and guidance counseling for over 40 years.

He spent his summers on the lake in China, ME and has been a Lakeland, FL resident for over 20 years. He enjoyed snow & water skiing along with time with his family. He retired to Highland Fairways in 1996 and was active in the community playing cribbage, bridge and golf.

Mr. Thorne is survived by his wife of 60+ years, Edna Thorne, 3 children Vincent (Andree) Thorne, Michael (Margaret) Thorne, and Deborah (James) Levasseur, siblings Robert, David, and Diane along with 8 grandchildren. There will be a Mass at Resurrection Church in Lakeland @ 11:00am Monday January 14th followed by a celebration luncheon at Highland Fairways community center. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery, Portland, ME.
