Obituary of Donald Springer, Sr. Donald (Don) F. Springer, Sr., age 79 passed from this life into his heavenly dwelling, on Wednesday, October 10, 2018. He was born January 22, 1939, in Salem County, the son of the late David S. and E. Jeanette (Roberts) Springer. After his family moved to South Jersey Don became a lifelong resident of Cape May County.

On September 12, 1981 he married the former Marilyn Rossetti and together they spent the last thirty-seven years cultivating many friendships in Cape May County. He was a 1957 graduate of Wildwood High School, and then proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard having obtained an honorable discharge in December 1963. Don’s career opportunities included being employed in managerial positions at the A & P Store in Rio Grande, Brodesser Inc., several prominent Cape May County fisheries, later became a well-known area realtor.

Among his many affiliations, Don was a past-member of the Lower Township Rescue Squad, for many years was actively involved in the state Republican Party, held membership with the Cape May County Association of Realtors and the NJ Association of Realtors. Additionally, he was an Independent Fee Appraiser, a National Independent Fee Appraiser Counselor and a life-member of the National Association of Independent Fee Appraisers. Don was also a long-time member of Covenant Presbyterian Church serving as Deacon, an Elder and finally as an Elder-Emeritus.

He will be remembered for many things, most notably, his great sense of humor, the string of silly knick-names he called people and his uncanny ability for remembering all sorts of trivia. Don is survived by his wife Marilyn, his children Diane (Doug) Foster of Fairgrove, Michigan, Donald Jr. (Dawn) Springer of EHT, NJ, Linda Balma of Fairgrove, Michigan, Elizabeth Beck of Villas, NJ, Donna Joan (Bill) Lowe of Millville, NJ; step-children Michael (Jackie) Rossetti, Bucks County, PA, Daniel Rossetti of PA, Irene (Joe) Evans of Cape Charles, VA; siblings Richard (Carole) Springer of Glassboro, NJ, Eileen (Daniel) Ricketts of Vineland, NJ, Joseph (Nancy) Springer of Rio Grande, NJ; Thirty grandchildren/step- grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren/step great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial celebration service will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018, 2:00pm at Covenant Presbyterian Church 123 Fishing Creek Rd. , North Cape May. Visitation will be 1:00pm until the time of service.

A private interment service will be held at a future date. Arrangements have been made by Evoy Funeral Home.
