Donna R. Baumgartner, 75, of Linton, passed away unexpectedly December 13, 2018 at CHI St Alexius Health Center in Bismarck. Service will be held at 1:00 on Thursday, December 20, 2018 at Weigel Funeral Home in Mandan. Visitation will be 12:00-1:00 PM with internment at the St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Strasburg at a later date.

Donna was born September 26, 1943 in Sioux Falls, SD to William Dale Crist and Loraine (Stoddard). Donna was raised and educated in Sioux Falls, SD graduating from Washington High School in 1961. She attended Dakota Wesleyan in Mitchell, SD.

She married John J. Baumgartner on May 22, 1970 in Richfield, MN. Donna worked for Northwest Airlines for 37 years as a flight attendant, traveling around the world. She always brought treasures back for her boys from every different culture.

Donna was an avid gardener, she loved to fish, go hunting with the guys and in years past snowmobiling was a favorite way to enjoy the outdoors. She loved helping out in the family vineyard and making homemade wine for her family and friends. She recently became a snowbird in Arizona and loved to spend time in the sun.

Donna loved attending sporting events with her kids and grandchildren. Her kindness, gentleness, and generosity of spirit endeared Donna to everyone who knew her. She showed us the meaning of love, honesty, and integrity and supported us whenever we needed it.

Donna will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by her sons, John (Laurie), Bismarck, William (Danielle), Mandan; grandchildren, Brittany (Andrew) Hilgemann, Lincoln, Mercedes Baumgartner, Bismarck, Anna Baumgartner, Bismarck; great grandson, Braxton Hilgemann. She will also be missed by many in laws, cousins, nieces, nephews & friends. Donna is preceded in death by her husband, John; parents; sister, Janet Nelson; brothers, Marlin & Merwyn; sister-in-law, MaDonna Crist.

Lunch will be held at Hillside Park Indoor Shelter at 1719 E. Boulevard in Bismarck following the funeral service on Thursday. Go to Donna’s tribute wall to sign the guestbook, view photos, light a candle, and share memories with Donna’s family.
