Donna M. Hinz, age 65, of Merrill, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was on her way to her winter home in River Ranch, Florida. Donna was born September 25, 1953, in Merrill, daughter of the late Frederick ‘Fritz’ and Mildred J. (Kufahl) Latzig, Sr

She married Dale B. Hinz on March 18, 1988. He preceded her in death on July 10, 2012. Donna had been self-employed.

She was the owner/operator of ‘Badger Wreath’, ‘The Front Porch’, and ‘Fritz’s Mountain’,… all located in the Merrill area. Donna enjoyed golfing, hunting and fishing, boating and pontooning, gardening and raising flowers, and cooking. She was an avid Brewer and Packer fan.

Donna is survived by her mother in law, Clara Hinz, Merrill; daughters, Becky Zarate, Jessica ‘Jo’ Byer, Sara (Keith) Klebenow, Terri (Craig) Marnholtz, all of Merrill, and Kristen (Dean) Hermsen, Rothschild; one son, Erick Hinz, Milwaukee; ten grandchildren, Samantha Smith, Seth and Sawyer Marnholtz, Zachary Zarate, Fawna Byer, Parker, Chase, and Brody Klebenow, and Elin and Elliott Hermsen; three sisters, Jane Allen, Allegan, Michigan, Susan (John) Rajek, Eagle River, Alaska, Nancy (Elmer) Koehler, Wausau; three brothers, Steven (Cindy) Latzig and Frederick Latzig, Jr., both of Merrill, and Scott Latzig, Amherst; and her sister in law, Bonnie Hinz, Merrill. Besides her parents and husband, Donna is preceded in death by her father in law, William Hinz, Sr.; and two brothers in law, Butch Allen and Bill Hinz, Jr. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, THE FAMILY SUGGESTS MEMORIALS TO ‘JESSIE’S FUND’. A Memorial Service for Donna will begin at 2:00 PM Friday, January 18, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 107 N. State St., Merrill.

The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial of her cremated remains will take place next to her husband Dale later this spring in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM Friday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Merrill, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be made at www.
