Lowellville – Donna Jean Walkama, 56, died Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Hospice of the Valley’s Hospice House after a battle with breast cancer. Donna was born January 9, 1962 in Youngstown, a daughter of Eugene and Loretta (Arnold) Walkama. A lifelong resident of Lowellville, she was a 1980 graduate of Poland Seminary High School.

Donna previously worked as a computer technician for Microsystems, as a pharmacy technician, and most recently as a custodian for Poland Schools. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church in Lowellville. Donna enjoyed flowers and gardening, doing crafts and painting, and helping out at Countryside Farms.

Donna is survived by her mother, Loretta, of Lowellville; her sister, Linda Walkama of Lowellville; four brothers, Robert Walkama of Lowellville, Wayne (Diane) Walkama of Lowellville, Alan (Nancy) Walkama of Salem, and James (Marsha) Walkama of Poland; her companion of many years, Jeff Smith of Calcutta; nieces and nephews, Lynzie, Gary (Carly), Jessica, Abigail, Annalise, Allie, Madison, and Harrison; and great-nephew, Austin. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Walkama. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland.

A prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:45 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church. Interment will follow at Lowellville Cemetery. Memorial tributes may take the form of contributions in Donna’s name to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Road, Poland, Ohio 44514.
