Donna M. Johnson, 83, of Evansville, died Monday, October 1, 2018, at Alexandria Assisted Living. Donna Mae Johnson was born February 23, 1935 to Orrin P. and Muriel Jeanette (Bah) Fedje in Evansville, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Evansville and grew up in Evansville Township.

Donna attended Country School District #26 for grades 1-4, transferring to Evansville Public School. After graduation she lived and worked in Alexandria. On September 10, 1955, she married Arnold Webster Johnson at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Evansville.

They lived in Evansville until 1973 when the family moved to Pelican Rapids. Donna worked at Pelican Rapids nursing home for over 13 years as a nurse’s aide and then in the activity department. She married Donald Hendrickson in January 1993 in Pelican Rapids and the couple moved back to Evansville.

Donna worked part time at Ostrom Hardware and at Crestview Manor in activities. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Churches in Evansville and Pelican Rapids, taught Sunday school, participated in Circle, Ladies Aid and Women of Faith. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, oil painting, reading, dancing, baking, bus trips and camping, especially family camping.

Donna enjoyed visiting with friends and family over a cup of coffee and always made sure those around her were cared for. “My very favorite and most important work, I was blessed to have had, was being a wife, mother and grandmother! ” Donna is survived by her sons, Douglas (Therese) of Bemidji, Kevin (Karen) of Alexandria and Alan (Denise) of Pelican Rapids; step-daughter, Pam of Alexandria; five grandchildren, Aaron (Heather) Johnson, Stefanie (Chad) Cunningham, Jason (Tami) Johnson, Tori (Chris) Olson and Ryan Johnson; four great-grandchildren, Logan Olson, Davis and Phoebe Johnson and Alexander Johnson; sisters, Ardyce Foshaug and Lou Ann (Gary) Anderson both of Evansville; a brother, Gary Fedje of Pelican Rapids; sister-in-law, Nadine Johnson along with several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, Webster, sister, Gwen Rocholl, brothers-in-law, Stanley Foshaug and Orvin Johnson.
