Donna Rakoczy Platt , March 02, 1975 — May 16, 2019

Donna M. Platt of Tipton, passed away May 16, 2019 at University of Michigan Hospital, due to a brain aneurysm. She was born March 2, 1975 in Monroe, MI, the daughter of Paul M. and Barbara E. (Gage) Rakoczy. On September 19, 1998 she married Heath P. Platt in Saline, MI at Wellers.

He survives. Donna was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1993. She then continued her education at Michigan State University where she graduated 1997 with a Bachelors Degree in Human Res.

Donna then went on and earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Eastern Michigan University. She had a career as a project manager in the pharmaceutical industry starting with Parke-Davis, Pfizer, Aastrom BioSciences, and United BioSource, Ann Arbor. Donna loved horses, starting in 4H, where she made life long friends.

Her love of horses carried over to her daughter, Jordan. Donna was Ashton’s biggest fan when it came to his hockey and LAX games. She also loved to travel, go to the beach, snow skiing, and also play golf.

Donna was a very devoted wife and mother and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. In addition to her husband, Heath, Donna is survived by her children, Ashton, Jordan, both at home, and Allison (Eric) VanSledright of Alto, MI; grandaughter, Thea; parents Paul (Jeannett) Rakoczy of Portand, OR and Barbara Rakoczy of Tipton; brother, Paul Rakoczy of Tecumseh, sisters, Barbara Humphrey and Angela (Brian) Holman, both Tecumseh; nieces and nephews, Alex and Zach Humphrey and Lucas and RaeLyn Holman; and mother and father in law, Robert and Sandra Platt of Tipton. A memorial service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday May, 19, 2019 at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian with Ben Nichols officiating.

Visitation will also take place on Sunday May 19, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian. The family requests no flowers and that memorial contributions be made to her children for their college education. Make checks payable to Heath Platt, 8220 Tipton Hwy.
