Doris A. Vore of Sundance, Wyoming April 21, 1922 – May 26, 2019 A vibrant bloom is gone with the death of Doris Vore, age 97 of Sundance. Doris was born to Harry and Charlotte Reynolds in a wayside cabin on Sunny Divide during their move from Rocky Point to the ranch SE of Sundance. She attended the rural Ransom School then on to high school in Sundance.

Doris married Woodrow Vore of Beulah are on June 7, 1941 and spent 48 years on their ranch until his passing in 1989. Woody and Doris were proud to donate the land for the buffalo jump to become an educational site. It was a highlight of her life when The Vore Buffalo Jump Foundation took on the challenge.

Doris met Dick Lake while volunteering for Habitat For Humanities. They were married in 1995 and made their home at the ranch where Doris grew up. Dick passed away in 2012.

She was an avid gardener and enjoyed making hand-crafted items: apparel, quilts, crochet, and embroidery. She appreciated clouds, sunrises, sunsets, and birds as they all brought her a smile of wonderment. Doris was most thankful of neighbors and friends – old and new.

Doris is survived by their children, Ted (Dixie) of Belle Fourche, Janet (Jim) of Casper, Dann (Mary) of Beulah, and Tom (Susie) of Newcastle; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Carol Ann Petra of Dubois. She is preceded in death by her husbands, Woody and Dick; her parents; brothers, Stanton, Gene, and Cecil; sisters, Alice Ackerman, Claraedna Stordahl Kipp; and grandchildren, Teri Jo and TJ Vore. A memorial has been established at the Sundance State Bank in her name for donations to the VBJ Foundation or Old Stoney Museum.

Family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Fidler-Roberts & Isburg Funeral Chapel of Sundance. Online condolences may be written at www.
