DORIS’ Obituary DORIS LYNN ABBOTT GIBSON, age 81, of Estill Springs, Tenn. , departed this life suddenly on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at Erlanger Health System in Chattanooga, Tenn. Mrs. Gibson was born in Winchester to the late Francis Monroe Abbott and Cora Lee Brandon Abbott on April 13, 1938.

She attended the New Creation Church in Tullahoma. Mrs. Gibson was last employed as a seamstress at the former Lanier Clothing in Decherd. Her hobbies included making jewelry, and sewing clothes for all of her family.

Her favorite pastime was fishing. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family at “family get togethers”. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Don Abbott and sister, Frances Grammer.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbur Gibson of Estill Springs, sons; Christopher (Connie) Davis and Lee Gibson both of Winchester, John (Amy) Gibson of Nunley, Tenn. , grandchildren; Jonathan Davis of Winchester, Crystal (Vincent) Sanders of Decherd, 2-great-grandsons; Chase and Colt Sanders, Sister, Jean Bass of Chicago, IL, special friend, Shari Shearer of Estill Springs. Visitation will be held from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday Evening, May 9, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services.

Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 10, in the Chapel of Grant Funeral Services with Pastor Tim Totty, officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Gardens in Winchester. Family and friends serving as pallbearers.
