Doris Ann Gass January 26, 1936 – May 18, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guestbook Entries| Send Sympathy Card| Memorial Donation Doris Ann Gass, 83, of Pinckneyville, passed away at 9:35 A.M., Saturday, May 18, 2019, at the Memorial Hospital in Carbondale. Doris was a homemaker and had worked for the Perry County Gold Plate for 20 years. She was a member of the Beaucoup Baptist Church in Pinckneyville.

She was born January 26, 1936, at Pinckneyville, IL, the daughter of William Virgil and Ernie (Hutchings) McCune. Doris married Donald Dale Gass on November 5, 1955, at the Concord Baptist Church in Pinckneyville, and he survives. She is survived by her husband of Pinckneyville, four children – Debra Burns and husband Vince of Pinckneyville, Beverly Davis of Du Quoin, Rodney Gass and wife Tami of Mt.

Vernon and Cody Gass and wife Violeta of Pinckneyville, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters – Shirley Rholfing of Columbia, IL and Barb Ritter & husband Stan of Smithton, IL, sister-in-law – Debi McCune of Pinckneyville, and her special dog “Bear”. Doris was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters – Allene Gummenscheimer and Ruth Reuter and two brothers – Bill McCune and Larry McCune in infancy. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 22, 2019, at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa with Rev.

Mark Lee and Rev. Rodney Gass officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 7 P.M., Tuesday, at the Searby Funeral Home in Tamaroa.

Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery at Rice, IL. Friends may make memorials to the Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
