Obituary for Doris “Dodie” Holbrook Green Bay – It is with great sadness that the family of Doris “Dodie” E. (Alft) Holbrook announce her passing on April 13th, 2018. Doris will be lovingly remembered by her four children: Becky (Dan) Turtenwald, Reece (Heather) Holbrook, Brian (Cindy) Holbrook, and Missy (Todd) Laddusire. Doris also leaves one sister: Christine Alft; two brothers: Bill (Barb) Alft and Pat (Janet) Alft; 14 grandchildren: Jessica, Andrea, Owen, Mark, Molly, Cassie, Joe, Gabrielle, J.J., Adam, Mercy, Hannah, Kaitlyn, and Taylor; and two great grandchildren: Aidyn and Alaina.

She was preceded in death by three brothers: Daniel, David, and Michael. Doris was born on September 25th, 1942, in Milwaukee, WI, and attended White Lake High School. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and cared compassionately at nursing homes in the Woodruff and Green Bay Area, capping her career with the American Red Cross.

Throughout her life she was a champion for anyone who needed help, working to secure benefits for veterans, and personally walking through difficult circumstances with those in her life. She also volunteered for many years at the St. Bernard Parish food pantry and library. Among her favorite interests were reading, going to the casino, doing jigsaw and Sudoku puzzles, and going to lunch with her friends.

She also cherished the time she was able to spend with her family. A gathering is being planned in the spring for family and friends to celebrate her life in White Lake, WI. To send flowers or a memorial gift to the family of Doris “Dodie” Holbrook please visit our Sympathy Store.
