OBITUARY Doris Elizabeth Bowers June 28, 2018 – November 10, 2018 Doris Elizabeth Bowers, 100, passed away on November 10, 2018, in Portland, Oregon. She was born on June 28, 1928 in Sonningdale (Saskatchewan) Canada, to Edward Henry and Anna Charollette (Markworth) Schultz. In 1920, the family moved to LaGrande, Oregon, where Doris completed High School.

Doris married her husband, Bazel Floyd Bowers, on December 5, 1936 in LaGrande. They were married until his passing in 1991. Doris was a member of the Neighbors of Woodcraft and the Royal Neighbors of America.

She enjoyed gardening, sewing, golfing, knitting, traveling, crocket and playing cards (especially Skipbo). She loved her cat, Kitsy. Doris was preceded in death by her daughter, Barbara Ann Brown and her sister, Myrtle Ellsworth.

She is survived by her daughter, Iris White (who works for the City of Sandy); 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 11:00 am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham. She will be laid to rest at Willamette National Cemetery.
