Doris’ Obituary Doris Lucille Hooker, 87, of Newcomerstown passed away at Community Hospice Truman House in New Philadelphia on March 1, 2019 following a period of declining health. Born June 5, 1931 she was a daughter of the late Robert and Charlene (Couts) Robinson. Doris graduated from Newcomerstown High School in 1949 and continued her education at the Bustin Academy for cosmetology.

She was an outstanding manager for the Silco Store and also a personnel manager for Kurz-Kasch for 24 years until her retirement in 1996. Doris was a dedicated mother and homemaker, she was always very involved with her children and the community. She was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church of Newcomerstown.

On August 8, 2010 she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Herbert Hooker, Jr They are survived by their children, Rev. Ron (Mary) Hooker, Rick (Ellen) Hooker and Sally (Bill) Parker; grandchildren, Randall Emig, Jr., Nicole (Bernie) Rusnak, and Ryan (Laura) Emig; and great-grandchildren, Randall Emig, III, Kylie Emig, Jemma Emig, Kam Rusnak, Owen Emig, and Kailyn Emig.

Services for Doris will be held at 1pm on Wednesday March 6, 2019 at the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Visitation will be held two hours prior from 11am to 1pm. Burial will follow in Newcomerstown’s West Lawn Cemetery beside her beloved husband.
