Doris Mary (nee Meyers) Hooper of Hereford, Maryland passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center. She was 90 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late James Costin Hooper for 59 years before his passing in 2011; devoted mother of Dawn Mary Stanley and her husband Gerald and the late James Rye Hooper.

Doris was a stay-at-home mom who was completely devoted to her children. She worked for the Baltimore Bio Lab as a manufacturing operator for about 10 years before co-owning Hooper’s Place (Hampden, Maryland) with her husband and son. She enjoyed watching her husband ride the thoroughbred horses that they raised together and dancing with the “Let’s Dance Social Club” to which they both belonged.

A private graveside service will be held at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens for Doris and James at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please remember Doris with memorial contributions to the Defenders of Animal Rights, 14412 Old York Road, Phoenix, Maryland 21131.
