Doris Browning Simmons, 89, of 202 Hillcrest Drive, Greenwood, wife of Jack H. Simmons, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2019 at Hospice and Palliative Care of the Piedmont. Born in Pelzer, she was the daughter of the late James Calvin Browning and Lizzie Thomas Browning. Doris retired from K-Mart and was a member of Woodfields Baptist Church.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, and working in her flower beds. Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are two daughters, Lynn Simmons of Winter Park, FL and Karen Ivie (Greg) of Greenwood; three grandchildren, Chris Ridgeway, Chastity Craven (Justin) both of Greenwood and Tiffany Cleveland (Andy) of Abbeville; and a special nephew and niece, Walter Madden (Gail) of Hodges and Tracy Goldman (Jason) of Greenwood. Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Sunday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with the Dr. Bob Miller officiating.
