Dorothy A. Armstrong, age 83, of Rothbury, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at home. She was born August 26, 1935 in Mexico, Missouri to George and Emma (VonEschen) Obersmith. She was raised in Bellflower, Missouri.

Dorothy moved to Whitehall, Michigan after college and met Thomas Armstrong. They were married on July 7, 1956. They lived in Montague until 2006 when they moved to Rothbury.

Dorothy was a hostess for Consolidated Vending Corporation working at Howmet Corporation from 1973 until the late 1980’s. Later, she was employed by Howmet Corporation for approximately ten more years. Dorothy was a very loving person.

She loved to garden and grow flowers. She also enjoyed hunting and fishing. Sewing, knitting and collecting Fenton pieces were also favorite past times.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas; her son, Garry (Lisa) Armstrong; grandchildren, Brandi Armstrong and Terry Rosema; great-grandchildren, Wesley Woodbury, Terri Woodbury and Brandon Turpin; stepsons, Thomas Armstrong, Jr. and Peter (Carol) Armstrong; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Terry L. Armstrong and her sisters, Betty Kneubuhler and Mary Trower. There will be no services.
