Dorothy Ann Granger Bryant – 94, died peacefully at Westwood Center on Tuesday April 30, 2019. Born in Silver Springs, Maryland on January 28, 1925 and moved to Bluefield WV with her family in December 1938. Dorothy was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church since 1938, attended Bluefield College and worked for IRS during WWII.

She retired from Bluefield News Agency and was a proud and enthusiastic volunteer at BRMC for more than 20 years. In additional to her parents J. A. and Dorothy Granger she is preceded in death by a nephew John (Jackie) Dawson and her spouse Alpha Bryant. She is survived by her brother, James (Jim) Granger of Bluefield, WV, Charles (Chuck) Granger and wife Carol of NC, sister Julia (Judy) Dawson, 7 nieces and nephews, including Ann Boyd (Mark Aliff) her surrogate daughter and caregiver and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Saturday May 4, 2019 at Mercer Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00AM with Pastor William (Bill) Dawson a nephew of Slate Branch Baptist Church, KY officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9:30–11:00AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mary’s Cradle, c/o Trinity United Methodist Church, 401 College Ave.
