Obituary for DOROTHY ANNETTE MCCLAIN SYX Dorothy Annette McClain Syx of Rock Creek, Alabama, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the age of 86. She was born in Nashville, TN on July 21, 1932 to the late FA McClain and Bernice G. McClain and raised in Rock Creek, AI. She attended and graduated from Hueytown High School.

She was a member of Rock Creek Church of God in Rock Creek, Alabama. She is preceded in death by her husband Erskine D. Syx and daughter Teresa Avon Syx Goodson. She is survived by daughter Judy Syx Wells (Jim), her sons Paul F. Syx (Cynthia), Lorn M. Syx (Sheila), D. Steven Syx (Connie); grandchildren Danielle Syx, Ashley Syx Prantl (Chris), Meredith Syx Taylor (Kevin), Rachel Syx, Crystal Goodson Wilkerson (Lance), Bo Goodson (Rachel), Brian Syx (Holly), and Amy Syx Nelson (Steve); brother Ninnian A McClain, sister Avon McClain Connelly (Bud); son-in-law Ladd Goodson; and numerous great grandchildren.

The visitation will be from 12:30 PM until 2:00 PM, Tuesday, September 25, 2018, at Peoples Chapel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM at the Funeral Home, With Rev. Wayne Absher officiating.
