Dorothy B. Chronister, 90, of Hanover, PA, entered God’s eternal care, Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at The Brethren Home, New Oxford, PA with her loving family by her side. Born October 10, 1928 in West Moorefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Sally B. (Wilkins) Snyder. Dorothy was the loving wife of the late Leroy C. Chronister, Sr., who passed away January 25, 2015, and with whom she shared fifty-nine years of marriage.

Dorothy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, New Oxford, PA. Dorothy was the vice president of Lincoln Bus Lines for over 40 years until her retirement in 1998. She enjoyed bowling in various leagues, traveling with her late husband in their RV all across the country, spending time in the Florida Keys and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Kevin C. Chronister and fiancée, Brenda Kichman of McSherrystown, PA, Gail L. Laughman of Hanover, PA, Leroy C. Chronister, Jr. and wife Karen of Hanover, PA and Joyce A. Edwards and husband Al of West Deptford, NJ; eight grandchildren, Chris Laughman (Erin), Colleen March (Ryan), Michael Fonash, Darren Fonash, Steve Laughman, Joshua Chronister (Deidre), Adam Chronister (Jennifer) and Ethan Chronister; and eight great-grandchildren, Devin, MacKenzie, Alyssa, Brandon, Tyler, Mason, Ben and Chase. She was the last surviving of seven children, preceded in death by her six siblings, Harper Snyder, Welby Snyder, Sr., James Snyder, John Snyder, Nellie Lightner and Rada Mae Dickensheets. A funeral service to celebrate and remember Dorothy will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the Kenworthy Funeral Home, Inc., 269 Frederick Street, Hanover, PA.

Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hanover, PA. A visitation and time to share memories with the family will be held from 6 – 8 PM, Friday, December 7, 2018 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Dorothy’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2595 Interstate Drive, Suite 100, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
