February 14, 1936 Dorothy on was born in Edgecomb County, NC to her parents Will Barnes and Maggie Barnes She was preceded in death by her mother Maggie Barnes, father Will Barnes, sisters; Mary Lee, Annie Petteway, and Maggie Tate, brothers; Bennie Barnes, James Barnes, John Henry Barnes, Earnest Lee Barnes, Willi Barnes Ronald Barnes, and daughter Jackie Dupree Dorothy is survived by her children; Debbie Street, Bobby Dupree, Michelle and Calvin Gayles, Donald and Danita Dupree, along with 17 grandchildren, 15 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends Think not of me as dead, I’ve crossed life’s troubled sea. I now rest in eternal love in a place prepared for me Think not of me as dead for I rest on Him who gently call’s His own.
