OBITUARY Dorothy Jean Obenshain July 13, 1945 – January 20, 2019 Jean Obenshain, loving wife of Roy Obenshain, went home to be with Jesus on January 20. She was born and raised in Kentucky and lived in several other states while raising her 3 children before moving to Richmond to accept a job with Reynolds Metals. She retired from Reynolds 23 years ago to marry her Prince Charming.

She met Roy at Bon Air Baptist Church where both were Sunday School directors. In addition to her service in many capacities at Bon Air Baptist, Jean also served her community as a volunteer with CCHASM, a mentor with Chesterfield Public Schools, and Director of Harvest House food pantry in Destin, Florida. Among her passions, Jean enjoyed travel and especially loved the beautiful white beaches of Destin.

She also had a great love for her incredible friends and entertaining guests in her home. But nothing surpassed the love she had for the family God blessed her with. Jean always sought to be a blessing to each of them and to the many people God placed in her path.

She faithfully shared her love for the Lord with everyone. She is survived by her husband Roy Obenshain, daughters Cheryl (Kevin) Cannon and Shawna Hurn, son John Fink, stepdaughter Valerie (Mark) McBride and grandchildren Sean (Sarah) McBride, Christian McBride, and Mathew McBride. The service and reception will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 1:00PM at Bon Air Baptist Church at 2531 Buford Rd, Richmond, Va 23235.

All are invited to wear bright, cheerful clothing as we celebrate her life and her going home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Bon Air Baptist Church’s Missions fund.
