Dorothy J. Stanosek, age 90 of King formerly of Wild Rose, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. Dorothy was born April 9, 1928 in Walnut, IA; the daughter of the late Donald and Helen (Jacobsen) Sharp. She joined the Air Force on March 3, 1952 in Walnut, Iowa and was honorable discharged on March 3, 1954 in Camp Kilmer, New Jersey.

Dorothy was a registered nurse, loved caring for others. For the past ten years, Dorothy made her home at WI Veterans Home and enjoyed all the activities King offered, making many friends, and playing Yahtzee. She got four Yahtzee’s in one game and became the champion of Yahtzee.

Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Laurie (Dan) Mielke of Brown Deer, WI; Carole (Jack) Frater of Wild Rose, WI; Brother: Roger (Mary Albano) Sharp of Burbank, CA; Grandchildren: Ian, Izabella, Spencer, Sydney Stanosek-Rockwood, and Suzie (fiancé BJ) Mielke. Also many other relatives and friends. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Donald.

Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 22, 2019 at WI Veterans Home Main Chapel in King, WI. Chaplain Wayne Schwanke will officiate. Military honors will follow the service.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of service at the Main Chapel. Graveside service will be held at a later date at Central WI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
