Dorothy Jennie Grems, age 89, a 42 year resident of Land O’Lakes, Wisconsin passed away on December 29, 2018 at Seasons of Life in Woodruff, Wisconsin. She was born June 21, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to her parents Charles and Jennie Pavlack. Dorothy relocated from Orland Park, Illinois to the Northwoods in 1976.

She played the organ for all the services at St. Albert’s Church for 42 years. Dorothy was also a watercolor/oil painter.

She acquired a title of “The Chicken Lady” because of her creative whimsical chickens. She enjoyed creating caricatures of family and friends. Dorothy won several State and Local awards for her paintings.

She was a former member and treasurer of the Headwaters Art League. Dorothy loved writing poetry of encouragement and faith which was sent to those home bound or in the hospital. She had a biography published and presented to family members and special friends.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband William in 2014 and her parents. She is survived by her daughter Felicia (Charlie) Kania of Conover, WI; sons: Dave (Ed Margoscin) of Wimberley, TX and Larry (Holly) of Watersmeet, MI; grandchildren: Jennifer (Greg) Snow, Bradford (Ashley) Grems, Brian (Lindsay) Slater and Katelyn (Dustin) Gillespie and great grandchildren: Gabriella, Averie, and Haidyn. Services will be held at St. Albert’s Catholic Church in Land O’Lakes at a future date.
