Dorothy Jo Adams, 81, of Oklahoma City died December 10, 2018, at her home. She was born October 26, 1937, in Indianapolis, IN to Clifford and Emma Gunkle. She was a long-time member of First Christian Church of Midwest City and, for over ten years, involved with the Mobile Meals program.

Dorothy had her private pilot’s license, enjoyed singing in her church choirs and was an accomplished seamstress. She graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and from West Coast… Read More » University with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science. Dorothy retired from a career at Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 aunts, Julia and Mary Sellers. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Nellis; son, Steve of Oklahoma City; 2 granddaughters; and 1 great granddaughter. A memorial service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held at First Christian Church of Midwest City on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 1:00p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association online at alz.org.
