Dorothy Kensey February 09, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| View Guest Book Entries Dorothy “Dotty” Kensey, age 88, longtime resident of Hilliard, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2019. She was born on July 14, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio to parents Ernest and Pearl Lane Bluhm, who preceded her in death. Also preceded in death by sister Betty, brother David and her husband of 62 years, Richard A. Kensey, Sr. (2013).

Retired from Hilliard City Schools, where she taught grammar for 25 years of her teaching career, she previously taught English at Jonathan Alder for 2 years. Dotty was a woman of faith, and was a member of The Church of the Nazarene. A 1948 graduate of Columbus West High School, Dorothy graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in Kankakee, Illinois, returning to college after having a family.

As a huge Buckeye fan, Dotty enjoyed the OSU football and basketball games. Dotty is survived by sister Lois Carter, son Richard (Karla) Kensey, daughter Cyndi (Joe) Coniglio, grandchildren Jason (Katy) Coniglio, Jarrod (Beth) Coniglio and Rebecca (John) Dunlap, 7 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, colleagues and friends. The family wishes to thank the staff and residents of Wellington Village for their friendship.

We are also grateful to Dotty’s caregivers for their care in her last days. Family will receive friends 11 am- 1 pm Wednesday at the TIDD FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard, OH 43026; where funeral service will follow at 1 pm. Private interment Sunset Cemetery.
