Obituary for Dorothy May Fowler Dorothy May (Venter) Fowler Passed away January 11, 2019 at her Slickville area home. Mrs. Fowler was born March 13, 1928 to the late Henry Edward Venter and Maria (End) Venter in Upper Burrell Township, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. On April 1, 1946 she was married to the love of her life, Montague Fowler, Jr. from South Carolina.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Montague Fowler, who passed on December 7, 2018; her parents; brothers and their wives, Gus (Mary Repp) Venter, Henry (Ann Salate) Venter, William (Nancy Cooper) Venter; and her sister, Mary Lou (Venter) Tawney (Lloyd). She is survived by her daughter, Marietta (Fowler) Closson (Apollo, PA); and son, Melvin Fowler and wife, Bonnie (Pollock) (Avonmore, PA); four grandchildren, Melanie (Adams) Sam and husband, Doug Sam (Mt. Pleasant, PA), Lloyd Closson and wife, Lisa (Payne) of (Pleasant Grove, UT), Jenny (Fowler) Mull and husband Dan (Torrance, PA), Heidi Fowler (Pittsburgh); and 5 great-grandchildren: Brandon, Kasey, Jake, and Molly Closson (Pleasant Grove, UT), Wade Montague Graff (Mt.

Pleasant, PA). She cherished her job as mother, grandmother, and homemaker. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, spending time with the family, reading, flowers, and deer hunting.

A celebration of her life and viewing will be held at 10am on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Greenwood Memorial in the mausoleum, Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania.
