Dorothy M. Medaris, age 90, of Muscatine, Iowa, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at Unity Point Hospital in Rock Island, Illinois following a short illness. A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington, Iowa with Pastor Dave Wood officiating. A general memorial has been established.

Dorothy was united in marriage to Everett E. Hayes in New London, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1963. She then married Stanley Medaris in 1973.

Dorothy previously resided in Hamilton, Illinois, Farmington, Iowa and Keokuk, Iowa and has lived in Muscatine, Iowa for the past two years. She worked for the Department of Social Services in Lee County, Iowa. Dorothy was a member of the Hamilton United Methodist Church and she was an avid reader.

She is survived by her son, Ronald Hayes of Muscatine, IA; grandson, Jame Hayes and wife Amanda of Muscatine, IA; great-grandchildren: Andrew, Logan and Macy Hayes; step-children and step-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Everett Hayes and Stanley Medaris; and sister, Pauline Thompson.
