Obituary of Dorothy Miller Services will be held on Friday, June 15th for Dorothy “Dottie” Louise Mihelic Miller. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on June 1, 2018 at the age of 94. Dottie was born June 18, 1923 in Joliet, Illinois to Jacob Philip Mihelic and Mary Jo Bebar Mihelic.

Upon her graduation from high school in Joliet, Dottie moved west to pursue a career in Accounting. She met her husband, James Miller while he was serving during WWII. They lived in a variety of places over the years including, Prescott, Arizona, Los Angeles, San Mateo, San Jose and finally Aptos, California.

After moving to Aptos, Dottie worked in the Administration office at Cabrillo College for many years. Dottie and James were for decades, a generous and compassionate force in the Monterey Bay area. Together, they were a dynamic team, active in their church, community and local government.

Dottie is survived by her brother, Jack Mihelic and her sister, Genevieve Tuel, her brother-in-law George Miller and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James. A Memorial Mass will be held for Dottie on Friday, June 15th, 2018 at Resurrection Catholic Church, 7600 Soquel Drive in Aptos beginning at 10:00 am.

Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, located behind Resurrection Church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Resurrection Catholic Church, 7600 Soquel Drive, Aptos, CA 95003.
