Douglas W. Scott passed away peacefully on January 21, 2019 Douglas was also referred to as “Doug,” Big Doug, and “Chief”, by his many friends and loved ones. Doug was the son of the late Douglas and Bessie Scott, he was born and raised in Mineola, New York with his sisters Joan McCue, the late Marian Auletta, the late Barbara Loprocaro, and brother, Thomas Scott. Doug was preceded in death by the love of his life, Barbara (Ahrens) Scott.

Doug and Barbara married in 1960 and started their family first in Mineola and then settling in Levittown, NY. Doug and Barbara raised 3 children who they were extremely close to. Doug and Barbara retired to upstate New York where they enjoyed country living.

Their home became a retreat for their children, grandchildren, and many long-time friends. Doug was happiest when he was with his wife, his children and grandchildren in New York State spending time hunting, fishing and enjoying his family. Doug is survived by his sister, Joan McCue, his brother Thomas Scott, his children, Doug (Eileen), Michael (Carrie) and Joann Prisco (Tommy), and his grandchildren, Derrick, Samantha, Noelle, and Ryan.

The family will receive visitors for a memorial service Friday, January 25, 2019 from 6-9 pm at Arthur F. White Funeral Home, Inc., Farmingdale.
