Douglas D. Speck, 93, of Mechanicsburg, PA. , passed away on Friday, May 10, 2019 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. He was born on March 16, 1926 in Harrisburg, PA.

, and was a son to the late Thomas Speck and Gladys (Kamp) Speck. He was a graduate of John Harris High School. He was a stone mason, general contractor, engineer and builder of many things, including an addition to the George Mason University.

He was also the owner of American Beauty Swimming Pools. Doug and his bride of 59 years Betty M. (Smith) Speck loved to go dancing and were well versed in many dance styles. Doug enjoyed writing poetry, playing his violin and living life.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Mechanicsburg, PA. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) M. Speck, sons, Raymond E. Harrison and wife Kim, Thomas A. Speck and wife Wendy, daughter, Debra K. Peiffer and husband James, brother, Donald Speck and wife Theodore, a sister, Marie Long, 13 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Viewings will be held on Monday, May 13, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM at the Musselman Funeral Home and Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at The Church of the Latter-Day Saints 216 Skyline Dr, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050 from 9:00 to 9:30 AM.
