Douglas’ Obituary Douglas Kent Severs, age 71, of Clarksville, Iowa was the son of Warren S. and Anna June (Pieper) Severs, born on January 29, 1948. He attended country school at Shady Dell No. 7 through 3rd grade, then attended and graduated salutatorian from Clarksville Community School in 1966.

He graduated from Iowa State University in 1970 with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and Agronomy. Douglas was united in marriage with Delores “Dee” I. His main priorities in life were his love for the Lord, his family and dearly loved his country. He loved singing together with his family, especially hymns that give glory to His Savior Jesus Christ. Doug delighted in spending time outdoors with his family and friends, watching wildlife, hunting, canoeing, and fishing; and amazed them with his wealth of knowledge of nature.

He had contracted polio at age 4; and despite the physical limitations, he persevered with a determination and fortitude. He was known for his sense of humor, compassion for others and his courageous spirit. Doug impacted the lives of many and will be greatly missed.

Doug passed away and went home to be with His Savior on Wednesday, February 27, 2019, at the Waverly Health Center in Waverly, Iowa, of natural causes.
