OBITUARY Dr. G. Reid Keiger May 9, 1936 – November 24, 2018 Play Tribute Movie On 11/24/2018, Dr. G. Reid Keiger, 82, followed his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, into the Realms of Glory. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Emma Keiger, and two of his brothers, Ormond and Dustin. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Geraldine Wilson Keiger; they were blessed with 3 sons – Alan (Cathy) of Charlotte; Brian (Laina) of Ft.

Mill, SC; Rev. Carey (Lori) of Hoover, AL. Nine grandchildren – Karen Whitfield (Jody), Lindsay Small (Greg), Franny Montgomery (fiancé, Josh), Lexi (14), Carley (12), CJ (2), Christian (17), Zack (17), Breanna (15); 7 great grandchildren – Kohl Whitfield, Jakob Whitfield, Raygen Ellis, Tanner Small, Landen Reid, Kristopher Dunham, and Trevor Dunham.

Dr. Keiger was a graduate of Bob Jones University and Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. He earned his doctorate from Southern Seminary in 1979. He served in the ministry for more than 60 years.

He served the Lord as pastor of Yadkin Baptist Church in Statesville; Baptist Home Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro; Rolling Roads Baptist Church in Greensboro; Thomasboro Baptist Church in Charlotte; and New Hope Baptist Church in Charlotte. Dr. Keiger also helped create a counseling program at Charlotte’s First Baptist Church and served in an interim capacity at several churches upon his retirement. He was named Pastor Emiratis of New Hope Baptist Church.

A celebration of Dr. Keiger’s life will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Monroe on Wednesday, November 28th at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, November 27th at the church from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Building Fund of Shiloh Baptist Church; Hospice-Novant Health; or the Mecklenburg County Council-Boy Scouts of America. FAMILY Geraldine Wilson Keiger, Wife Alan Keiger (Cathy), Son Brian Keiger (Laina), Son Reverend Carey Keiger (Lori), Son Karen Whitfield (Jody), Grandchild Lindsay Small (Greg), Grandchild Franny Montgomery (fiance’ Josh), Grandchild Kohl Whitfield, Great Grandchild Jakob Whitfield, Great Grandchild Raygen Ellis, Great Grandchild Tanner Small, Great Grandchild Landen Reid, Great Grandchild Kristopher Dunham, Great Grandchild Trevor Dunham, Great Grandchild Dr. Keiger also leaves his grandchildren, Lexi, Carley, CJ, Christian, Zack, and Breanna to cherish his memory.
