Visitation will begin on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. with the recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment in St. James Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Dr. Garcia – Perez was born on October 18, 1932 in Piedras Negras, Mexico to Juan B. Garcia Alvarez and Dolores Perez Rodriguez.

Dr. Juan Garcia-Perez renowned for impressive surgical skills, gentle demeanor, and community involvement, was the first Hispanic physician to practice in Seguin. He is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Maria Margarita Garcia-Perez; his loving daughters, Mary Lou Garcia Castillo (Paul), Patricia Garcia Saucedo (Edgar), Nena Garcia Gomez (George), Martha Garcia, and Adriana Garcia Trevino (Alfred); sisters, Olga Garcia Perez, Graciela Hernandez, Yolanda Flores and Guadalupe Garcia Perez; brother, Ricardo Garcia-Perez; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be his five daughters, Ricardo Garcia-Perez and Santiago Garcia. The family would like to thank all caregivers especially his granddaughter, Margarita Hernandez for their hand in his palliative care. In addition, we would like to extend gratitude to Heart to Heart Hospice team led by Dr. Jerry Castilleja and Sandi Gray, RN.

Special gratitude to all family and friends during this difficult time, especially Mr. and Mrs. Santiago Garcia.
