Barksdale, Jr., age 93, a McMinnville, TN resident and Leesburg, FL native was born March 9, 1925 and passed away January 7, 2019 in St. Thomas River Park Hospital following a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Willie Crain Barksdale, Sr. and leaves behind numerous dear friends to celebrate many fond memories of a life well lived. He was an avid tennis player who won many championship trophies, a pilot for the United States Army Air Corps in WWII and dentist for over 40 years in Jacksonville, FL.
Graveside service and interment will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2019 in Riverside Cemetery with Willard Ralph, Jr. to officiate. Military grave rites will be conducted by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday at High’s.
