Dr. Virginia “Pat” Beyer May 11, 1927 – January 05, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book Funeral Services for Ms. Beyer are under the care of All Souls Mortuary. Virginia “Pat” Beyer A life beautifully lived…. In the end just three things matter.
How well we have lived… how well we have loved… and how well we have learned to let go… Pat Beyer was an icon in all these things. Pat was born in 1927… the second child of Steven and Marie Mueller. She and her older brother Robert spent their childhood in St. Louis, Missouri.
She graduated from Webster University, having paid for her college education with her musical talents. “The Harmonettes” were an all-girl band who played some amazing venues and apparently had quite the wonderful time! Pat met the love of her life, Martin Beyer, when she was 20.
He was “it” and together they created a beautiful life. Their family quickly grew to six children (Donna, Jada, Susan, Stephanie, Robbi, and Mick) and southern California became their permanent home beginning in the mid 1950’s. Pat was a woman “ahead of her time” in all ways… When one thinks of the things accomplished, it is quite amazing.
With six children at home she first received her Masters Degree from Chapman University and then proceeded to obtain her PhD from Brigham Young University without missing a step. One would think that this ambitious schedule would demand so much that other areas of her life would suffer…. Not so… Not even for a moment… Her six children are her biggest fans and there was always plenty of love for all.
She spent the remainder of her career as a Professor and Associate Dean at CSULA. Over the years, her six children created a total of 17 grandchildren and they, in turn, have brought 31 great grandchildren into this strong family unit. Even at 91 years old Pat could tell you, without hesitation, names, birthdays and loads of fun information about every member of her clan.
Truly a gift! When Pat Beyer passed she left a huge hole in all our lives. No surprises there… she is that special… After we, as a family, take time to mend, we will see her in the daily beauty of life… We know this with total assuredness… She will always be with us.
“Beauty comes from a life well lived. If you’ve lived well, your smile lines are in the right place”. Mom… your smile is perfect… We love you.
