OBITUARY Duane James Andersen November 10, 1931 – January 21, 2019 Play Tribute Movie ANDERSEN, Duane James, 87, passed away at his home on January 21, 2019, after a two year struggle with Merkel Cell Carcinoma. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto Hans Andersen and Margaret Mahoney Andersen; and his beloved wife, Joyce Schaefer Andersen. Duane was born on November 10, 1931 in DeWitt, Michigan.

He is survived by his loving children, daughter, Julie Andersen Rich and her husband, Robert John Rich of Greenwood Village, Colorado; and son William James Andersen and his wife, Kimberly Cole Andersen of Wake Forest, North Carolina; grandchildren, Bryan James Rich and his wife, Jennifer Lee Rich, Sarah Rich Griffin, and her husband, USAF CPT Michael Gregory Griffin, Alyssa Nicole Andersen and Natalie Ann Andersen and her fiancé, Alec Blackmon; and by his companion, Donna Mickelson. A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Surprise Funeral Care 16063 W. Bell Road, in Surprise, Arizona. A Reception will immediately follow the service.
